Intense Schooling

I'm sure you are all DYING to hear how my orientation day went. It was good. We went over all of the policies and procedures... blah blah... don't sexually harass each other..... blah... you can have relations with your schoolmates but not your teachers... (odd discussion- I realized I was not at BYU anymore)... and all that jazz. The professors are AWESOME and my classmates are great- there is one girl that I was really good friends with in high school that is one of my classmates- so that was cool! I haven't seen her in like 8 years, so that was weird. Anywho, after we did all of the boring stuff one of the professors came to scare us like crazy so that we are hard workers. Apparently Physical Therapy school is VERY strict. As it should be, I imagine. He told us all of the ways that will get us kicked out of school. It really isn't that hard. For example, if we get lower than a B- in any class we are put on probation. While on probation if we get lower than a B- AGAIN then we get kicked out of school. No joke. They have done it in the past. Also, if we are to get lower than a 3.0 (B average) in one semester then we are put on probation, and again if it happens again we will be kicked out. Also, cell phone use and tardiness can get you put on probation and kicked out. MAN! It reminds me of all of those times in middle school and high school when they would give you all of these rules and tell you that it will be EVEN MORE strict when you are in college. I never found that to be true at BYU, in fact I mocked all of those warning teachers from the past. But now, I feel that those words have come true. I'm really not all that worried, since I know that they will work with you if you are ever struggling to understand the material- I mean they WANT you to graduate from their program. Plus, these are things that I am interested in and I am working on making this a life-long career. This isn't retarded inorganic chemistry. Shudder. I did not enjoy that class. I would have been kicked out of school if I couldn't get lower than a B- in chemistry... because I did. he he. Well, that is all for now. I bid you farewell for the next 3 years, for I will be engulfed in study. I will try to do my best to blog my life stories and experiences. Love you all!

Wow. I remember going BACK to college after 3 kids ... and rolling my eyes AT LEAST a thousand times at all the rules and what-not. For Pete sakes!!!! It is COLLEGE ... ya know ... we're paying for it ... we chose it ... we NEED it. I hated it when I felt like the professors were wasting my time. :) Wow - that made me really sound high and mighty ... but ... it is what it is. hahaha.

You'll be fabulous, Zach!!!

Hey Zak, How goes it for you in PT School? How is Tiff the Red Head? We need to get you two over here for dinner or something. Give us a call we are in the phone book... so I guess I can put it on the blog 631-9694 (H) and cell 445-2377. Let us be your family while you are here OK? How long is PT school anyway? Lenny's brother in law (lives 2 doors down from Lenny & Amanda) is a Physical Therapist. So maybe that will be of help to you along the way. He (Rex) went to PT school in Alabama and undergrad BYU. Well, Love Ya, Cindy your Auntie Oh Yeah and where do you live??? Call me!!!

I'm just glad you have so many supporter that live in Vegas. I couldn't believe all the aunts, uncles and cousins who showed up to help you move in. That is awesome! I don't worry too much about you breaking any rules or getting bad grades. It does seem like they'd treat you more like an adult however!
