So the funniest thing happened to me at work yesterday...
The day was VERY slow, and I was the only one dispatching at the time. I got to work at 7am, and there were three officers on duty that I could dispatch out to do whatever needed to be done. The day went by, and at about 1pm I needed a little bathroom break. I went into the stall and started to do my thing when I heard my supervisor Steve and one of the officers Russ come into the bathroom. Russ immediately starts with "Steve, we need to have a talk about some of your dispatchers." I'm thinking "Crap. What have I done today to make him mad." He continued: "Some of them just get one number in their head and can't get it out! He has called me on EVERY call today and left the other two officers out doing nothing. I mean, I don't really mind writing reports and working, but I have other things that I can be doing and the load really needs to be spread out to the other officers." To that my supervisor offered some possibilities of why that might be, yadda yadda, and he just tried to diffuse the officer. I wanted to bust out laughing. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! When I got back into dispatch I approached Steve and said that I heard everything in the bathroom. I said "Do you know how many calls we have had today???? TWO! TWO CALLS! And NEITHER of them required that he write any type of report!!"
Yes, I am serious. I sent him on TWO things in six hours and he complained that I was being unfair. I sent him on the second call because the other officer had called out off campus. I still cannot get over the hilarity of this whiner.

That's great - you should have approached Russ and called him on it. I wonder if he would have tried to defend himself.
What a loser! It sounds like he has way too much time to do nothing and gets into a pattern where any kind of work is just too much. I'm glad you were there to defend yourself to this loser boy. I thought police officers were different than that, a cut above the normal worker.
wow. that makes me laugh. on slow days i love it when dispatch sends me to something. even if the other guys don't get called to anything. i'll bet he does almost no self-intiated activity also. We call those type of guys R.O.D. (retired on duty) or in other words lazy as s**t.
