BAD DREAM.

Do you know those dreams where you go to class and realize that you are naked? I've never had one. I know dad has told me about some nightmares of his where he realizes that he hasn't been going to a class in college the entire semester, then realizes there is a final the next day or something. Today that dream has become a reality in my life. I'm not sure if I should think myself a complete idiot or if I should be mad at BYU for bad registering methods. Anyways, here is my story:

I have been attending a class called "dental school preparation" where I have learned many things, one being that I probably don't want to be a dentist. The first day of class we were given a list of things to buy in order to carve teeth out of wax to get some practice before dental school. For the past few weeks I have been wondering "when are we going to start carving teeth?" So today in class I turn around and ask some kid "Do you know when we are going to do the first tooth carving?" He replies: "Well, the first one we turn into this class is next week- (gives me a confused look because he notices my shock and disbelief)- Um, we have already done the first two carvings... have you not done them?" My response: "We have another lab to do carvings??" Other dude: "Yeah, we have another lab (with remorse smile) you may want to go talk to the teacher".....

Yeah. I have not been going to a lab for almost half a semester. I asked the teacher and apparently I am the first to report this. Idiot? Yes. but when you sign up for the class it doesn't make you sign up for the lab that accompanies the class!!! My schedule doesn't have the lab or anything on it, yet it is VERY required for this class. Needless to say I'm not all that thrilled about my new knowledge. I now have to somehow fit a 2 and a half hour lab every week into my schedule, and catch up on a half semester of learning how to carve teeth. GREAT. I think it's time for me to huddle into a mass of stress and ask somebody to give me a massage for the next few days. I want to cry.

What the stupid first comment? Where did that come from?

GET OUT OF THAT DUMB CLASS! Just take a "W" and get out. That happened to me one semester, but I figured it out early on. That is so annoying when you have to guess if there is a lab that goes with a class. Don't cry!

I'm going to tough it out. oh, and I deleted the first comment- it was way retarded.

Who wrote the first comment? haha. That is a nightmare! That totally sounds like something I would do. I think I would complain to BYU about it. How are you suppose to know about the lab? Didn't the teacher say anything about it? Good luck my friend. It sounds super interesting though. Really.

Oh man, my nightmare has come true, but it happened to you! Now you'll have this dream forever! I am so sorry to hear about this. Maybe there is some learning involved here, such as being able to tough it out and overcome obstacles. I can't believe no one even mentioned the class. Oh baby, I'll probably have another one of those dreams tonight.

Zak - that is awful!! Life is hard and then you die, I think that is how the saying goes. I admire your determination to hang in there. I think there will be more things in life that will require that skill. At least you won't have time to stress over wedding plans. He he

HOLY CRAP!! I've had those dreams, too. It is the worst feeling. And now you've LIVED it. Wow. I can totally see me doing that. I always wonder why everyone knows about stuff except me. That sucks, Zak.

I didn't know dentists practice carving teeth. Weird. Anyway - good luck with all that!

I always felt that way at BYU. It was like everyone knew what was going on, but me. Did the teacher have any sympathy for you? Like more time for the carvings you missed? What a PAIN.

isn't it funny how we all feel this way, but always feel like we are the only ones going through it? i feel your pain zak. i always feel like a dork in half my classes...i totally relate to classmates giving you weird looks. i just want to tell them, "shut up. i can draw boxes and make purses better than you!" but then i horrifically think...maybe i can't...
