Discovery of the City... a tale of Trent and Zak

Like I told you all in the last blog, Trent and I made it to the city yet again! This time it was great- there was order, fun, and no bad areas... We first went to the John Hancock (John Hancock... It's HERBY Hancock!(name that movie)) building up to the observatory.

We looked around, got some cheesy pictures, and made our way down to the bottom of the building... where the other AMAZING things are.... like the Cheesecake Factory.Mmmmmmmmmmm. SO GOOD. I have to say, I really think that I will be coming back with a much higher cholesterol level. Oh well. It was great.

After that adventure we made our way down to the Navy pier, where on the way we passed the Freedom Museum that has all of these pieces of rock in the side of the building... one of them was from the Salt Lake Temple! So cool, had to take a picture. On navy pier I talked to Tiff on the phone and got the picture with her... thats on the last blog, so no picutre for you. There was also a Mexican band playing a bunch of classic 'banda' music that reminded me of my mission. Twas' awesome! After all of that we decided to try and make it in time before the Art Institute of Chicago closed, and we made it there by 3:45... exactly the time that they let people in for free because it closes at 4:30. We were able to see pretty much everything that I really wanted to, plus a few other very interesting pieces... it was really cool. By that time Trent and I were way tired and we just wanted somewhere to sit and relax. So, we went to the movie theater down town to see Xmen 3. AWESOME movie. I really liked it. It seems like Paul would full heartedly agree with me. Anywho, that was the trip! Chicago is a great place to visit.

Cool - I think that was my favorite picture in the museum. All those millions of dots! I could spend hours and hours in there. I'm so glad you got to see Chicago in the daytime. Have fun!

I love that painting. We studied pointillism in my art classes. You're taking some cool pictures. I'm sure I'll never make it to Chicago so it's cool to see all the sites through your pictures.

I want Trent's food. Mmmmmmmm. Mashed potatoes and chicken.

I've never eaten there. We should go on August 25th.

That is so AWESOME! What a fun day. I can't wait! I can't wait! I'm glad you can scope out all the cool stuff for us.

Paul DID love X-Men. He saw it the other day with all of his coworkers and his boss at "lunch." So not fair.

Tony Danza was in Chicago on his bitchen talk show and he said the place to go is the Navy Pier and some wiener circle place. Anyways, if Tony Danza says we should go, we should go.

Tony Danza is a complete nerd boy. I watch a little after Ellen now and then and I can't believe anyone watches that show. I'm sure Jaime was being facetious, at least I hope so. By-the-way, I'm glad you enjoyed Chicago.

oooh ... Tony Danza... his voice is so dreamy!

Oh my. Tony Danza should be beaten senseless on Oprah. Now THAT would be some good television.
